Wildfires in Nepal are rapidly escalating due to climate-induced droughts and human activity, causing widespread environmental and health damage. Despite policy efforts, limited resources and coordination hinder effective response. Urgent action is needed through community engagement, early warning systems, and climate-resilient forest management.  

Despite having over 45% forest coverage, Nepal faces severe air pollution due to widespread forest fires and poor forest management, which paradoxically worsens even as greenery expands. The country spends billions on importing wood and fossil fuels while letting its own forest biomass burn, missing opportunities for sustainable energy and economic development. By promoting sustainable forest management and biomass utilization, Nepal can turn its environmental crisis into a pathway for cleaner air, energy security, and green growth.
